General Guidelines
  • Any Guilford resident or employee of a Guilford business can be a GCTV producer.
  • All programming must be non commercial and must be aired at least once on GCTV.
  • Training and use of equipment is free.
  • GCTV is not a news station with reporters and crew waiting to record an event. GCTV is TV You Create! Our mission is to train community members to produce programming.
  • You must be 18 years of age to sign out equipment. Minors must have an adult sign out equipment for them.
  • Producers do not have to use GCTV's equipment in order to produce programming for broadcast. You can use your own or a mix of your equipment and GCTV's equipment.
Training

GCTV requires a minimum amount of training before producers can begin using equipment. Generally a producer is asked to set aside an hour for field and studio training. This is basic training for becoming familiar with equipment setup and operation. Training is free and there is no limit on how much training a producer can receive. Simply contact GCTV to setup an appointment to brush up on techniques already learned or to try something new.

GCTV Production Classroom

We hope you will find this a useful tool in producing your next program. Much of the information here is based on Frequently Asked Questions from our producers over the years. The information provided on these tip sheets are guidelines and starting points.

We encourage you to share these PDF documents with others involved in your project and to contact us with any other questions you may have. That is our best way to gauge the kind of information the public needs to know about producing community video!
